Failure Is The Pillar Of Success

“failure is the pillar of success”

He groaned as he highlighted the meeting review. “what has my life come to?” he rolled his eyes as he closed it. “uhm I’m done reviewing” he called out. “you can go home now, Alex” the bold voice said. Alex picked up his bag and walked out of the office room. Sighing deeply he tiredly walked down the street. He peeked into the glass window and saw his reflection. The stress showed on his face. He had bags under his eyes, dark circles prominent, his cheeks flushed, lines formed on his forehead. “I’m 25 why do I look older?” he said as he felt his face. Lowering his hand sadly he staggered to his apartment.

It was a small place, enough for a single person. Alex got by though. He had a normal job, he worked hard though. He didn’t want to work there. He had a different dream in the past. It was something he almost achieved. However fate had different plans for him and here he was, working himself until he aged beyond words … at his very young age.

It was very tiring. Sleep was just something he did for a few hours, not even 5 hours. Quite unhealthy however Alex had no choice. That day he got no sleep. He stared at the ceiling and teared up thinking about how fate was never on his side …. Or was it? His head was full of thoughts and was going to fall asleep when he heard his phone ringing. Waking up suddenly he almost dropped the phone when he saw the name on the screen.

“Hello Mr. Damien” he tried to sound as professional as possible. “would you like to get a second chance to sing again?” the voice on the other side of the phone asked. “yes, yes I would love that” Alex said almost on the verge of tears.

And so, he prepared and prepared and the day of the audition he wasn’t nervous. Why? He was born to be a performer. Alex made it into the agency. He failed once, but he didn’t the second time. Maybe fate was on his side after all.
