I think most of us would know by now that, what am I trying to discuss about in my today's blog. Yes, its about "Kayaking"!!🥳 OMG it is one of the exciting and dangerous water sport event. I love kayaking at the same little nervous too!! 😜 It is one the most amazing way to enjoy the nature while kayaking.

I want to share the history behind kayaking and how it developed as a sporting event.
Kayaking got its name as, we use kayak to move across water bodies. History goes like this: this was created thousands of year ago by Inuit who are inhabited in artic region regions of Grasslands. It was formerly know as Eskimos by those people. They used skeleton of whale to construct the frame of the kayak, and seal skin was used to create the body.
The literal meaning in those days was referred to "hunter's boat", they used kayak to catch fish. In 1740's Russian explorers developed basic kayak concept for hunting and transportation. In mid 1880's European where interested in this method of hunting and introduced as sport. In 1931, Adolf Anderle was the first person to kayak down the Salzachöfen Gorge. This was also introduced as a race in Berlin Olympics Games in the year 1936. In the 1950's fiberglass kayaks were developed and were used. During 1980's polyethylene plastic kayaks were introduced. Kayaking became a important and popular sport in the U.S. These days we can see more than 10 white water kayaking events being part of the Olympics.

Few activities part of kayaking are:

  1. Diving.
  2. Fishing.
  3. Ecotourism.
  4. Whitewater.
