Jog falls is a waterfall on the Sharavathi river in

Western Ghats Sagar Shimogga Dist. It is second
largest in India The water depends on rain water

this falls has four drops named as per the appearance
and majesty of water falling from 830 feet height
Raja,Rani,Roaror and Rocket.

The falls is covered with rich forest vegetation the rainy
season is best time to visit as the Volumes of water fall

on the rocks The spray.

we can take walk to the bottom.

River Sharavathi in 1949.


Hydro electric power station produces 1200 Mega Watt electricity.

Jog falls is beautiful become in side you see rich forest on high mountain

And on other side there is 253 meter deep rocky.
Cliffs and water falls in the crivices of five Cliffs depending on type of
natural of water falling below the four streams and named as Raja, Rani, Roaror, rocket
Raja,s majestic fall of water .Rani looks like saree cloth of a woman.
Rocket is fast jet like fall and fast .Rorar makes a muck sound so they are
called as per appearance and sound .There more than 3000 steps going to
Bottom to reach river they are built in a spiral manner .it will take to hours walk

at the bottom because of the spray of water on the rocks we see many Rainbows
The stones are very slippery and and climing up side is a horribly job.


Jog falls look like paradise among the western Ghats where water is flowing down from the

hight of 830 feet the fence mansoon forests are rich in medical plants, teak wood ,black wood as well as sandalwood trees

There are many animals wild like Cheetah,Tiger, Elephant.
This makes jog falls a must visit spots in Karnataka.
