Changes in Nature
Change is a permanent feature in nature and in everyday lives. Some common changes that happen in your daily life are day and night, change of seasons, growth of plant, cooking, rusting of iron etc.
Desirable changes are useful to humanity, for example, ripening of fruits, cooking of food, formation of curd in milk etc. Undesirable changes are when they are harmful to humanity, for example, rotting of fruits, curding of milk, rusting of iron etc.
Reversible changes are the substances that we can change back to its original form like, melting of ice, evaporation of water, glowing of a bulb etc. Irreversible changes are the substances that we cannot change back into its original form like, burning of paper, rusting of iron, cooking of food etc.
Physical change is there in which no new substance is formed. For example, when water is cooled, it freezes to form ice. When left it open, the ice changes to water again. So, therefore no new substance is formed.
Chemical change is there when its original form loses its composition and properties. For example. Burning of wood and paper. We cannot undo a chemical change when it is burnt. So, therefore it is a chemical change.
Change in Nature can come from species activities or interactions within a food web or from environmental changes that impact the functioning of a food web. ... Geological upheaval, evolution, climatic cycles, fires, storms, and population dynamics see to it that Nature is always changing.
