My Summer Camp

In my summer vacation two-three years back when I was in Kerala, “God’s own country” My dad had to go to work and still was in Bengaluru .So, as I was saying, one morning, when I woke up my mom was very excited to tell me something . I asked her what she wanted to say . Do you want to know what it was???I wanted to know.

Hmmm…...so let me tell you it was about a summer camp. She told me “I got a call from your father he asked whether you wanted to go to a summer camp? ”Just like most people, when I heard the word “summer camp” I was so so excited . And I wanted to get more details and tell my friends and family. Don’t you want to know when and where and how , what I should pack? I surely wanted to know.

So, I called my dad immediately. He told me that it was in Isha foundation in Coimbatore . It was for a time period of five days . It was the first time I was going to stay alone! I had to carry dresses ,water bottle, binoculars, extra footwears and so on…………….On the day of the camp I woke up early and left with my parents, grandparents and little brother to Isha .In the timespan of three hours we reached the place and waved goodbye to my family .Then, I set off to the ashram and made a huge number of friends ,most from Tamil Nadu itself .We started liking the place and enjoyed it. Do you have any idea of what I did there? Some things are unbelievable ! On day 1, I went trekking and saw animals too. That day, we also played in a stream and were completely drenched in muddy water. Then on day2, we travelled to a forest called Parambikulam forest in Kerala by bus and saw wild animals walking freely .It was indeed scary! That day, we slept in a hotel nearby, it was very dark over there .On day 3 we went for a walk on a dried up hill that had no trees or greenery .By afternoon, it was so hot and felt like we were in a desert. We started at 8 a.m. and it finished at 2 p.m.

All of us were tired and slept early that night. On day 4 we returned to the ashram and surprisingly that day was the best of all! We touched real snakes including King Cobra ! Everyday, we did yoga in the morning and evening at 6 a.m. and p.m. .We woke up early at 5 a.m. everyday . The food too was amazing. We had pooris ,vadas, samosas ,ice-cream ,etc.……My dad had also gone there for some yoga event or so and he got salads for food so I thought I would get the same.

The next day , day 5 was the day I came home and I got an album of all the photos clicked there and so on…..We got tree saplings too. In the album there were many photos of almost all events that took place. It was really fun and I wished that I got such a chance again like last year .But unfortunately because of coronavirus and lockdown it is not possible. Hope I get another chance after all this .And of all things, if you get such an opportunity do not miss it for anything. For all of us to get an opportunity we must stay home, stay safe. Goodbye for now.
