Asha and her problems.
Asha was getting frustrated and tired of life. She was used to getting fewer marks in her exams because she was not able to remember everything and she was not also good at sports which were conducted every year in her school. So she asked her father "What to do papa? I am tired of my life." Her father told her to bring an egg, two tea leaves, and a potato. Asha wondered why did her father tell her to bring all these. In the meantime, her father bought out three vessels, filled with water to the same level. By that time Asha arrived with all the things her father said to bring.
Her father said her to put all the items into each of the vessels. Once the water was boiling, he told Asha to keep an eye on them. After 10 minutes, he asked Asha to peel the egg, peel the potato, and strain the leaves. Asha was left confused. Her father ten explained, “Each item was placed into the same circumstance, boiling water. See how each responded differently? ”He continued, “The egg was soft, but is now hard. The potato was hard but is now soft. And the tea leaves, they changed the water itself. ”The father then asked, “When adversity calls, we respond in the same manner as they have. Now, are you an egg, a potato, or tea leaves?”
Asha then understood, what exactly her father meant. She said I want to be an egg. not a potato.
Then Asha and her father started laughing. The moral we learnt in this lesson is that 'We can choose how to respond in difficult situations.'
