Reading is an important part of a child's development journey. It is as important as any other academic subjects.

Children should be encouraged to read short stories and also newspaper. Reading helps children improve their communication skills and vocabulary. There are different types of stories like fiction, humour and moral based stories. Fiction and humour based stories are a good pass time and fun to read. Moral based stories help in development of the child's character and imbibes good values in them. Reading newspapers every morning is a very good habit to inculcate in children. They will come across new words everyday which will help improve their language. It will also keep them updated on the various development around the world. In today's digital world, it is even more important for children to develop a habit of reading as they are spending lot of their time on mobile phones and other electronic gadgets.

I have made a habit of reading one newspaper article every day. I have also started to read short stories. I am currently reading "Timeless Tales" a collection of short stories which is published by "THE HINDU" group of publications. I am enjoying the reading experience.
